Mobile Mastery

CellSnake on a phone isn't a compromise — touch players get real advantages. Here's the full manual.

The floating joystick

There's no fixed joystick position. Touch anywhere in the lower half of the screen, and the stick appears exactly under your thumb:

Grip tip Rest your thumb where it naturally falls, not where the UI "seems" to be. The stick spawns at your touch — the comfortable grip is the correct grip.

Integrated boost — pull to the edge

There is no separate boost button. Pull the stick to the edge of its ring (85% of the radius) and boost engages; the knob glows magenta and shows ⚡ BOOST. Ease back below ~70% and it disengages. This hysteresis gap means no accidental flickering at the threshold.

Your built-in advantages

Touch input is less precise than a mouse, so the game compensates — openly:

Eject on mobile

The small W chip at the top of the screen fires an eject — a fat pellet launched backwards. It's deliberately out of the way because it's a niche tool: feeding a friend, or dropping bait behind you with a pursuer on your tail.

Performance & battery

Install it (optional, better)

Use your browser's "Add to Home Screen": the game launches fullscreen without the address bar, loads faster from cache, and feels like a native app. Nothing to download from a store — it's the same game, one tap closer.

Mobile-specific tactics

Your phone is a valid weapon. Prove it.
